This past weekend, I had an amazing time photographing some infant photos of Lucas Chang. He is the cutest little round guy ever. He was also so sweet, well-behaved and quiet. We first did some cute shots of him alone and nakeds. I’ll keep those to a minimum since they are private photos Here are some that tame photos:

Then we invited his big brother to join us, Joshua. The two got chummy with their matching tshirts:

Finally after the shoot, Joshua was so hot under all those stuffed animals so I let him crash out from it and he definitely enjoyed that

Maddy’s 15th Birthday Event!

Last week I was lucky enough to photograph 10 wonderful girls on a shopping adventure in Soho to celebrate their friend, Maddy’s 15th birthday. It was definitely a lot of fun, starting off with a lunch at BREAD (2o Spring St.). The girls were super friendly, energetic, adventurous and definitely enjoyed each other’s company. Maddy wanted the shoot to be natural– to be comfortable with her friends on her birthday. My job was to capture some fun creative shots of them doing “their thing”. It was a little cold and windy outside, but that didn’t stop us from laughing our heads off, jumping up on high walls, running down cobble street and trying on thousand dollar fur coats…. It was a blast. Maddy even had all her friends pick out the ugliest thing they could find at Top Shop and try it on in the “Personal Shopper” Room. It was hilarious!

I’m an Aunt! (again!)

My wonderful older sister just gave birth on Wednesday to Baby Lucas Chang! He was 7lbs and 14ozs! I was lucky enough to get a moment to visit her at the hospital and get a few first glimpse at this newborn cutie, Lucas. He is so sweet and round and his older brother, Joshua seemed to LOVE him to death. It was so adorable watching Joshua have this heart to really want to hold his baby brother. Joshua had been so excited for his brother’s coming for awhile! Luckily my sister had a very complication-free birth and was feeling great very soon after. Happy mom, happy baby

Selling designer, Jeremy Scott’s personally designed line for Adidas and only selling for 2 weeks. Had to get some shots for New York Mag’s The Cut blog. Love the logo and the fancy shoes. Don’t Walk By

I volunteered last Saturday with a homeless outreach called, “Don’t Walk By” where we scoured the streets of Harlem searching for those that needed shelter, emotional support, help or just a warm plate of food. They set up base at a local church, send out teams of volunteers that do a few many different things. They have a transportation team that goes around and picks up those homeless that are incapable of walking, or just need assistance in getting to the base church. They have a hospitality team that interacts with the homeless to find out what has been troubling them, and just lending them an ear to hear their stories. They have a street team (which I joined) and we walked around our area searching for the homeless to speak with, and there is also a subway team that goes and rides around in the subways looking for people who need help as well. It was an enormously uplifting event and they are doing them for 6 weeks- every Saturday. Check them out here. I served as their volunteer photographer as well, but mostly ended up talking to people (and my awesome team) more than shooting- just so happened that way.

MetroMix – First Bite: Pera Soho

I know it’s been quite some time since my last update. I’ve been pretty swamped with work and shoots but consider this a great thing! Recently shot for MetroMix, Ryan Skeen, head-chef of Pera creating his newish salmon dish, ending with a sweet little smiling portrait of himself.

Phil Wickham & Shane & Shane in Concert in New Jersey

A few friends and I was able to catch Phil Wickham & Shane&Shane in concert last week in Whiting, New Jersey. Yes, it was a 2 hour drive there. But we even prolonged it into a 3-5 hour drive because we stopped at Mitsuwa to get some authentic, delicious, amazing, dazzling (OK I’ll stop) Japanese food. You can check out that blog entry here (@foobie, my food blog). It was quite an amazing concert. I love Christmas songs!

New York Magazine – Seagull Nails

I hung out at Seagull Salon, photographing for NY Mag’s the Cut. The salon is owned by Johnanna Fateman one of Le Tigre (the 90′s electroclash band) member. This night they had special guest, Sophie Harris, who is “The Illustrated Nail” from the UK. From the times of 5pm-10pm, Sophie was at the salon offering free manicures for any of the guests that wanted them. Her work is fabulous, intricate and totally cute! I would have totally gotten my nails done if I had enough time that night Instead, I was given an awesome free hair styling by Will, one of the Seagull Salon’s stylist. I spent the night photographing the guests, their styles and how they got their nails done.

MetroMix – Onegin

On a dreary Thursday morning (the day after I got engaged!) I went with Linnea Covington to photograph Onegin, a new Russian Restaurant over on West 4th street. It was quiet when I walked in to see Linnea speaking with one of the managers of the place. They were talking about how the restaurant was named after Eugene Onegin (one of the books that Pushkin (the pioneer of all Russian Literature) wrote. The story tells of a man, Onegin and how he rejects the love of a woman then desperately regrets it later. (It’s a lot more complicated, maybe you guys should wikipedia it– if interested.. or better yet, Read it!) Anyway, the restaurant is decked out in writings from the book strewn across the ceilings and tables and decorations that screams classic! We were able to taste a three-course meal cooked up by chef, Ilze Ritina- which were amazing and drink delicious Russian Tea.

5 Looks with ONE sweater! Went around with one sweater, one model and one writer to 5 different shops to have them style up and pretty up this sweater for the winter. Looks so awesome, loved the charming GRANDPA sweater on Tommy!!
